Syria opposition calls Damascus bombing a government plot
why would the opposition target an area that has been anti-Assad?
everyone who’s been following the situation in Syria knows that the bombing in the Midan district of Damascus was carried out by the government.

the old Syrian revolutionary flag
this was the flag used when the Syrians kicked the French out in 1946
the revolutionists have adopted this as their flag and as a symbol of opposition against Asad’s baath regime

Somehow, this journalist managed to travel to Syria and report on what’s going on there.
Foreign reporters are banned in Syria. This is—hopefully—going to be an amazing look inside the revolution.

Tuesday Nov 8 09:01pmprotests from Syria.
the stuff they’re saying here are things people used to be afraid to say in their own homes. the fear has been broken.
It’s important for people to know that the Syrian people are not at war with the army, but the army is at war with them.
Despite what the Syrian government says, there are no terrorist groups within Syria that are causing the unrest. Syria is and has always been an extremely peaceful country (despite the stereotypes). The average Syrian citizen does not own guns.
The dead soldiers are soldiers who were executed by the army because they refused to kill civilians.
A commentator on Al Jazeera made a great point the other day while arguing with a Syrian Official.
why were there no snipers or “terrorists” during the pro Assad rally which took place last week? If anything, these “terrorists” would want to shoot them, not the anti-Assad protestors.
this was a great point. the only response the Syrian Official had was something along the lines of, I’ll look into it.
Please know that were it not for camera phones, Al Jazeera, and a few other news stations, there would be a genocide in Syria right now.

Protesters left the mosque after noon prayers, their numbers growing to 5,000, he said. They met a force of 3,000 security men, he said.
“The minute they saw us they started shooting at us,” he said.
Protesters retreated, then surged again. “Peaceful! Peaceful!” he said they shouted as the gunfire continued.
