Driving Down Broadway
New York City
1953I love this. jesus the pedestrians haven’t changed
it’s a movie about a pretty famous restaurant in NYC named Shopsin’s.
it was good, i liked it. The owner is surprisingly philosophical and enlightening on the meaning of life…but i’m afraid to go in.
it’s one of those restaurants where the owner (Kenny Shopsin) is a NY Jewish guy with an attitude, and if you’re not a regular, you won’t know what rules to follow (like no parties of 5, no talking on the cell phone, etc.) Oh, and if you don’t follow a rule you will literally get yelled at or thrown out.
it’s almost like the Soup Nazi guy. (but Shopsin doesn’t seem to be as much of a dick)
he’s got over 900 unique dishes that he cooks to order himself, and apparently, the food is really good.
I will go in, probably soon, but i can’t say i’m not intimidated…
